This 5 day IMI accredited introduction will give you the confidence and skills to carry out basic bike maintenance and servicing. Ideal for taking your bike skills knowledge to a more proficient and confident level

Contents include:
Introduction to bike maintenance tools and workshop setup
How to do a “health check” on your bike and diagnose problems
Tyres and inner tubes: sizes, removing, installing, and repairing
Bottom bracket removal, fitting [cartridge and adjustable type], rethreading, facing
Pedal installation, removal, re-threading
Crank arm installation and removal: square type, splined and cottered
Chain ring removal
Chain types, fitting, removing, fitting the correct length, alignment
Chain cleaning and lubrication
Rear sprocket removal and fitting
Hub servicing and adjustment
Headset servicing, A-Head & threaded & headset replacement, tube & fork reaming
Wheel truing and replacing broken spokes
Brake systems, cables, housing and types - calliper, linear, side pull, dual pivot
Gear systems, cables, housing and types - STI levers, twist grips, down tube, thumb levers
Derailleurs – front and rear fitting, indexing and adjustment
